چکیده

Hypochondriasis is a condition characterized by an unrealistic fear of having serious medical illness resulting in health anxiety. Currently, no evidence-based pharmacological treatment options are available for the hypochondriasis. Since selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) first-line option anxiety disorders, they may be useful relieving hypochondriasis symptoms. Moreover, off-label use SSRIs these cases highly prevalent clinical practice. Thus, this study, we aimed to review literature assess role hypochondriacal A systematic search was conducted PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Embase, and Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews from date inception December 2022. We included only randomized trials (RCTs) investigating effect Non-RCTs, observation studies, animal studies were excluded. The Risk Bias 2 tool used quality studies. Out 2264 articles, six RCTs met our inclusion criteria. Studies have been using different primary symptoms associated with other psychiatric disorders. All found that has some beneficial improving This suggests one promising interventions

Cerebrovascular effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors: a systematic review.

OBJECTIVES An understanding of cerebro-vascular effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) is essential, since SSRIs are a widely used antidepressant, serotonin is a vasoactive and thrombostatic amine, and there is a bidirectional relationship between depression and cerebrovascular disease. DATA SOURCES A MEDLINE search was performed to identify published reports over the peri...

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors: A Class Review

OVERVIEW Many changes and therapeutic advances have occurred in the treatment of depression in recent years, most notably the availability of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of agents, followed by the introduction of escitalopram oxalate (LexaproTM, Forest), the first agent in what is known as the “second generation” of SSRIs. However, because of the higher acquisition c...

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors

It has long been postulated that a deficiency in CNS serotonergic activity is the cause of, or a predisposing factor for, depression. [2] Some pharmacological trial data also cast doubt ...
